Dear Sir, —I have been interested to read in your columns of a proposal to form a new civic party, and it appears to me that such a suggestion, if carried into effect, would result in the re-elec-tion of a Labour Council, and As a man in the street I certainly think that a change in the present council is desirable. The Citizens’ Association has undoubtedly been more active this past twelve months than it was previously and I would suggest that the promoters of this new party (if there are any?) turn their energies to assisting that association.—l am, etc., INDEPENDENT.
