JUROR APPRECIATES HONOR OF SERVING.

George Frederick Drury was summoned to attend the sitting of the Supreme Court yesterday as a juror, but failed to do so.

He explained to Mr Justice Adams to-day that he had to go to Leeston on business, anc j f or g ot the date on which he was summoned to attend. I haven’t served on a jury, and I appreciate being able to serve, and would like to do so from now on,” he said.

His Honor said that duties of that nature should not be neglected, but the explanation was a reasonable one and would be accepted.
