CANTERBURY FOOTBALL ASSN.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the committee of ths Canterbury Football Association was held last night; present—Messrs H. Bascand (in the chair), C. E. Keys, H. Smyth, E. Lancaster, J. Jennings, M. Anderson, J. Stout, Dr J. D. Marks, and R. B. Bunt (honorary secretary). The Town Clerk wrote stating that the Reserves Committee of (he council had decided that, owing to the fact that football and hockey matches are continued until the second week in September, considerable difficulty had been experienced in preparing the turf in the various city reserves to make it suitable for cricket. Consequently It had been decided that in future the council would strictly adhere to its previous decision not to allow football in reserves where football is played after the end of August in each year. As the matter did not affect the association to a very great extent, it was decided to take no action at present. It was decided to send a letter to each club asking it to nominate two members who would be able to referee any matches during the coming season It was recommended to the outgoing committee that Dr J. D. Marks be made a life member of the association March 5 was fixed as the last day for ?
