SEAMAN SUFFERS CRUSHED FINGER.

While the Port Alma was proceeding down the harbour last evening, bound for New Plymouth, an ordinary seaman named Musson, aged 16, who was assist-* ing in winding a rope, received an injury through one of the fingers of his left hand becoming jammed. He was placed on the Harbour Board tug and returned to Lyttelton to receive medical attention at the casualty ward, where it was found necessary to amputate a portion of the finger. Musson, who hails from Newcastle, England, was making his first trip.
