EX-PREMIER OF SPAIN ARRESTED FOLLOWING DISCOVERY OF PLOT.
(United Press Assn.—By Electric Tel egraph—Copyright). (Received January 31, 12.30 p.m.) MADRID, January 30. An ex-Premier, Sanchez Guerra, has been arrested at Yalencia, and lodged in a military prison. He was suspected of complicity in the plot to overthrow the General Primo de Rivera in September. Aeroplanes flew over C.iudad Real, where the troops had revolted, and dropped leaflets stating: “All Spain is quiet Surrender immediately, and return to barracks, otherwise you will be bombarded.” The revolt ended mside half an hour, and the rebels returned to barracks with their guns. The civic authorities returned to duty, and normal life was restored— Australian Press Association.
