85 ARCHITECTS TO SUBMIT DESIGNS FOR NEW ART GALLERY.

ENTRIES WILL CLOSE „ . ON FEBRUARY 13.

Eighty-five architects in various parts of the world have intimated their intention of submitting designs for the new art gallery to be erected in the Botanic Gardens, with the £25,000 fund given by Mr R. E. M’Dougall. The closing date for receiving designs is February 13.

A total of 154 copies of the specifications and conditions of the competition have been distributed. The competitors who are submitting designs are domiciled as follows:—New Zealand 26, Australia 29, England 24, Scotland 3, Ireland one, Lower Burma one and United States one.
