In the men’s singles semi-final Schlesinger beat Hopman, 6-2, 6-1, 0-6, 6-2. In the men’s doubles semi-final Moon and Cummings beat Gregory and Collins (England), 3-6, 6-4, 6-1, 7-5. In the mixed doubles final Moon and Miss Akhurst beat Crawford and Miss Cox, 60, 7-s.—Australian Press Association.

FEDERATION REFUSES TO ALLOW KOZELUH’S CHALLENGE TO STAND.

PARIS, January 26. The French Lawn Tennis Federation refused to permit Karel Kozeluh’s proposed matches with amateurs. —Australian Press Association —United Service.

Kozeluh, who is professional cham pion of the world, challenged Cochet, Tilden and Lacoste. the three leading amateurs, to the best of three matches on hard courts, the receipts to go to charity.
