APPOINTMENT OF DR MACINTYRE CONFIRMED

The Christchurch Hospital Board to-day decided to confirm the appointment of Dr Macintyre as medical director of the tuberculosis institutions, in the absence of any objection having been lodged to the appointment. The Public Health Committee reported that there had been no further communication from the DirectorGeneral of Health with regard to the appointment of Dr Macintyre as medical director of the tuberculosis institutions. This being the case, the committee felt justified in the board confirming the appointment, seeing that the Act provided that objection to an appointment shall be made within twenty-one days. Tt was suggested that intimation should be given to the senior officers of the various institutions that Dr Macintyre would take complete control after December 31. The report was adopted.
