A suggestion has been made to the \Vorks Committee of the City Council that a. low concrete kerbing should be constructed on each side of the trees on the portion of Fitzgerald Avenue lying between Moorhouse Avenue and Ferry Read. A kerbing of this nature has been constructed in‘ Bealey Avenue and in other portions of Fitzgerald Avenue a stone bordor‘ has been constructed. In its report 1m the council last night the committee stated that it was of the opinion that the proposal would greatly improve the appearance of the locality and recommended that the work be carried out under the unemployment relief scheme for the sum of £lls.
