The Reichstag gathered to discuss A Budget of importance high, The President expected fuss And that the {ur was bound to fly “I must keep cool the house," thought he, “That men in sober words may speak, “Else brickbats would be hurled at me, "And so, lost wrangles, fights and rows “The peace of the debate should mar. “I’ll use the power the law allows. “And for this sitting close the bar." A lot of thirsty Germans then, Discussed the Bill with thinking clear, But, oh! I guess these worthy nlen Dreamt all the while of lager beer. But, oh! Good old Sir Joseph, please, Do not adopt this novel biz, And close our local Bellamy‘s. Debates are too dry as it is
