Fire at Carterton early this morning gutted premises owned by the Stempa Estate and occupied by J. H. Russell, who conducted a fish shop and restaurant. The brigade was quickly on the scene, and a splendid water pressure enabled them to quell the outbreak.' The insurance was £6OO on the building. The contents were not insured.—Press Association.
