STUDIO PARTY.
Miss Violet Large entertained her junior pupils at her studio on Saturday afternoon to mark the close of the term. The children enjoyed many games and competitions. A dainty afternoon tea was served on the lawn, after which each child received sweets and favours. During the afternoon the following items were given :—Pianoforte soli, “ Dance of the Gnomes,” Edna Wilkie; “Bees’ Holiday, Rita Ilitchings; “ Rose Petals,” Gladys Small; “ Pixies’ Good-night Song,” Olive Falgar; and “Valse Lente,” Mavis Adam. “ Dance Espagnole,” danced by Mary Minotti in a very effective costume, was greatly appreciated, and Joyce Allen, as a dainty pink rose, danced in an attractive manner, and received much merited applause. Shirley Hall, the tiniest performer, was most entertaining, and a sword dance, given by Bernice M’Ewin, was well received. A prize for good conduct and politeness was awarded to Lillian Cameron. Those present were;—Mavis Adam, Esma Smith, Olive Falgar, Nola M’Dowell, Rita Ilitchings, Edna Wilkie. Gladys Small, Joyce Allen, Molly and Reta Birmingham, Rene Hanna, Muriel Schumacher, Nancy Mahoney, Una and Bonnie Sanders, Evelyn Moore, Nancy Hancock, Annie Regina, Noreen Tinally, Joy M’Nabb, Gloria Peck, Daphne Pepper, Joan Bradley, Cissy Faulder, Lillian Cameron, Mary Minotti, Betty Glac.ken, May Riley, Bernice M’Ewan, Melva Watts, Dorothy Pacie, Joyce Coburn, Margaret Mitchell, Jean Graham, Joyce Wilkinson, Shirley Hill, Betty Guy, Joan Williams and Dorothea Wilson.
