STEAMER MORINDA POUNDING HEAVILY UPON PAPUAN REEF.
(United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received December 17 11.30 a.m.) PORT MORESBY, December 17. The steamer Morinda is pounding heavily. All hopes of refloating her have been abandoned. It is feared that the vessel will soon break up. Her anchors are failing to hold her and she is moving farther up the reef. The ship Papuan Chief is standing by.—Australian Press Association.
