“THE GIRL FRIEND” STILL RUNNING AT THEATRE ROYAL.
“The Girl Friend” has all "the essentials of a first-class musical comedy. The music is bright and tuneful, the dialogue snappy and witty; there is an abundance of fun of the right type; there are quite a number of good and novel dancing turns; and the whole show is admirably staged and mounted. Messrs J. C. Williamson, Ltd., are particularly fortunate in their present company. They have assembled a band of highly talented actresses and actors, who are ably supported by a strong company of ballet girls and a male chorus. Miss Annie Croft, an English comedienne, who is making her first appearance in New Zealand, is the leading lady, and the leading man is Mr Reginald Sharland, who is also on his first tour of this country. In addition, there is that old favourite with New Zealand audiences, Miss May Beatty. “The Girl Friend” will be repeated tonight.
