F. G. HOLMES IS DISQUALIFIED FOR THREE MONTHS.

Three months’ disqualification was imposed upon F. G. Holmes by the Board of the New Zealand Trotting Association on Saturday night. The board passed the following resolution: —“ That in lieu of the caution administered by the Otahuhu Trotting Club to F. G. Holmes, he be disqualified for three months from this date, such disqualification to expire at midnight on March 15, 1929.” The discussion was taken in committee. At an earlier stage the meeting went into committee over the appearance of Mr C. Nordquist, owner of Laplander, in support of his appeal against the Otahuhu Trotting Club’s decision in reversing the placings in the Onehunga Handicap at the club’s meeting on Saturday, November 17. Laplander, driven by F. G. Holmes, was first to pass the judge’s box in the Onehunga Handicap, but Free Advice was given first place after an inquiry into alleged boring of Free Advice (J. Bryce) by the driver of Laplander. The club decided to issue a caution to Holmes. After deliberating over statements by Mr Nordauist, the board' decided to ascertain from the Otahuhu Club whether Mr Nordquist had been present at the club’s inquiry, and if he were not present, that the club be asked to reopen the inquirv and to give Mr Nordquist an opportunity to show cause whv the stakes should not be allotted as directed by the club.
