OPPOSITION SHOWN TO KELLOGG PACT.
(United Press Assn.—By Electrlo Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Received December 6, 9.45 a.m.) WASHINGTON, December 5. It is authoritatively stated that opposition to the Kellogg Pact appeared in the committee, and was initiated by Senator Reed, of Missouri, who forced the calling of Mr Kellogg to give evidence on Friday. The opposition was based on the ground that the treaty “ would lead the United States into the World Court by the back door.” It is believed that further hearings will be sought after Mr Kellogg testifies, thus delaying Senator Borah’s plan for an immediate and favourable report to the Senate.—Australian Press Association.
