SALE OF PATIENTS’ WORK.

The result of many 7 hours of quiet work, which made a wonderful display attracted a large number of visitors to the Christchurch Hospital grounds yesterday afternoon, when a sale was held of the work done by’ the patients in the hospital during the year. Babies woollies, face cloths, raffia work, embroidered cloths, face-towels, aprons. d’oyley 7 *, and numerous other articles were for sale, the work all being well and artistically 7 done. The interest the patients take in work passes for them man}’ weary hours and the satisfaction of their work finding a quick sale and so helping along the funds of the Hospital Lady Visitors’ Association, is gratifying in every way 7. The patients are taught all branches of hand work by an experienced teacher, and their work would pass the closest inspection. -Many 7 buyers crowded round the stall and the stall-holders were kept busy with most satisfactory results. Those in charge of the stalls were: Mesdames W. Bartram, R. C. Bartram. W. E. Bartram, T. J. 'Gimson, and Miss W ilson.

Competitions were run by Mrs Waters, Misses Bartram (2) and Scott.

A delicious afternoon tea was served on tables on the lawn, under the shelter of the trees. Mrs Owen and Miss Muir, lady 7 superintendent, were in charge of the tea assisted by a willing band of helpers.
