VICTORIA MAY AVERT OUTRIGHT DEFEAT IN SHEFFIELD SHIELD

In the Sheffield Shield match Victoria in the second innings has scored 308 (Scaife 62, Baring 87, Ellis 83 not out, Ebeling 71 not out.) There will be only two and a half hours’ play tomorrow, and Victoria is likely to avert outright defeat. —Australian Press Association. South Australia scored 582 in the first innings. Victoria made 344 and followed on.
