BRITISH TRADE.

CAPTAIN WADE’S MISSION.

Captain W. J. Wade, M.8.E., who is to deliver an address on shipping and commerce this evening, under the auspices of the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce, arrived in Christchurch yesterday morning. Captain Wade, who is representative of the Manchester Ship Canal Company in New Zealand and Australia, is on one of his periodical visits to the principal ports of the Dominion, advocating the development of direct trade between the Dominion and the great industrial area in and around Manchester.
