TWELVE CASES OF SCARLET FEVER ARE REPORTED TO-DAY,

Twelve fresh cases of scarlet fover were reported to-day to the Medical Officer of Health in Christchurch. Seven are in the metropolitan area. Following are details:—-St Albans 1, Spreydon 2, Opawa 1, Heathcote County 2, Halswell 1, Kaiapoi Borough 3, Kaikoura Countv 1, Selwyn County 1; total 12.

School Absentees. The Medical Officer of Health, Dr T. F. Telford, stated to-day that headmasters of schools in the metropolitan area had been supplying a list of absentees in their schools. He said that it would facilitate his work of checking absentees if, in future, headmasters would give a list of the fresh absentees only, and not a full list every day.
