At a meeting of the provisional committee appointed to make arrangements for the annual picnic of the Sumner District High School, the chairman (Mr J. E. Tait) pointed out that for some years it had been the custom to combine the school and borough picnics, and last year the Redcliffs School had been invited. A number of sites were discussed, including Ashburton, Amberley, and the Riccarton racecourse. It was resolved to call a public meeting on Thursdav November 22. at 7.45, at the school to deal compre hensively with all the arrangements Mr R. X. C. Hill, of Ilardwicke Street,’ was appointed secretary, and Mr J. E. Tait, Clark Street, treasurer.
