PREMIUM BONUS SYSTEM OPPOSED.
The following resolution was passed unanimously at a meeting of the Addington branch of the A S.R.S. held yesterday: “That this mass meeting of the members of the Addington branch of the A.S.R.S. stands firmly behind the national executive council in their fight against the introduction of the premum bonus system with the railway workshops.”
It was announced at the opening ceremony of the Otago Art Society’s Exhibition that the following Christchurch students had been successful: — Miss Ruth Turner, in the student’s competition, secured the prize for a still-life study in oil. Alfred Webster won the prize for a still-life study in water colour. Miss Ruth Turner won the prize for study of a head from life in colour. This student also shared the prize for drawing a head from life, with Eana B. Jeans, of Dunedin.
