WELLINGTON CHINESE INVADE CHRISTCHURCH.

An unusual sight on the Christchurch railway station this morning was a number of Chinese who made a brave show with coloured ribbons. They were the Reception Committee in connection with to-day’s Chinese festival, and were there to greet a contingent of Chinese from Wellington. The visitors were making their annual visit to do battle on the sports field with their brethren of Christchurch. The Wellington men were conveyed from the station in gaily decked motor-cars.
