“ SORRELL AND SON ” PROVES ATTRACTION AT QUEEN’S THEATRE.
When Warwick Deeping's now famous novel “Sorrell and Son" appeared, it made a great impression, and now the film version, the big feature at the Queen's Theatre this week, is a success equal to that created by the novel. Stories of quick action and spectacular scenes are more or less easily transcribed on to the screen, but when it comes to a story so dependent on human emotion, loyalty and sacrifice as is “Sorrell and Son,” the task is a difficult one indeed. The mere fact that the picture is such a success speaks volumes for the producers. and especially for the actor? and actresses. The programme is further strengthened by “Silent Sheldon,” a western drama full of action and brilliantly conceived withal. Jack Perrin has the leading part, and he infuses a dash into his performance which helps immensely.
