“ OFF WITH COATES.”
BY
SINBAD.
Well, that is that! The session's spout is over, and members to their scattered districts pour, all hoping that for three years more in clover they'll find themselves again when polling’s o’er. Concluded are the weeks of futile wrangling, the tale of which has bored us oft of late. Now candidates throughout the land are angling, with all thfe old accustomed sorts of bait. I. fancy that all vainly will the Tories this year in praise of Coate6 broadcast their tale. “The man who gets things done” and other stories, that is a bait that’s growing somewhat stale. “Coats off with Coates” seems also hardly fitted to win the Tory- Party many votes. In fact the first word ought to be omitted
—New Zealand’s motto now is “Off with Coates.”
