ZAZAPOI WORKING MEN'S CLUB. The Kaiapoi Working Men’s Bowling Club was officially opened this afternoon by the president, Mr J. C. Simpson, in the presence of a large gathering of menjbers and visitors, including the Mayor (Mr H. C. Revell). the Hon D. Buddo, M.P., Mr J. D. Colville (president of the Christchurch Bowling Centre).
In a brief opening speech, the president welcomed the visitors. He wished those present an enjoyable afternoon and the members a successful season.
Master G. Simpson then thitw the jack and Mrs Simpson put the first bowl.
Fourteen clubs were represented at the opening. Friendly games were played between rinks chosen by the president and the vice-president-
Afternoon tea was provided by members of the club.
