AMBERLEY V. CHEVIOT. The Amberley Golf Club played a match with Cheviot during the last week-end, which resulted as follows, Cheviot names being mentioned first:— Singles. G. Westenra halved with W. A. ParG. R. M'Donald halved with J. A. F. Childs lost to J. Stratton. T. Henshaw beat V. J. Rhodes. J. Scott halved with C. Bowen. A. Gillanders lost to I. G. Grierson. T. Edridge lost to C. Reid. C. Mowatt beat Jas. Rhodes. Four-ball. Westenra and M’Donald lost to Parsons and Mayo. Childs and Henshaw lost to Stratton and V. J. Rhodes. Scott and Gillanders lost to Bowen and Grierson. Edridge and Mowatt lost to Reid and J. Rhodes, Ladies’ Singles. Mrs Gillanders lost to Miss E. Parsons. Mrs Childs lost to Miss Rhodes. Mrs Archer lost to Miss Feathery. Miss Bosoraworth halved with Miss E. Payne. Four-ball. Mrs Gillanders and Mrs Childs lost to Miss E. Parsons and Miss Rhodes. Mrs Archer and Miss Bosomworth halved with Miss Feathery and Miss E. Payne. KAIAPOI CLUB. The season of the Kaiapoi Golf Club will be officially closed on Saturday afternoon, when the usual closing day competitions will be played. Although officially closed the links will be open for play for a further fortnight. AMBERLEY CLUB. The following is the draw for the first round of the knock-out handicap competition for Mr Parsons's trophy: Bowen (10) v. Oxley (13); Frew (10) v. V. J. Rhodes (9); Stratton (9) v. W. B. Wood 17); James (10) v. Reid (18); Shier v. Jas. Rhodes. This round must be played on or before September 30. players to arrange playing days with their opponents. The final of the senior championships resulted as follows:—Senior: Parsons beat Mayo, 2 up. Juniors: Grierson beat Fulton, 6 and 4.
