Marriner, organiser, report cd that more than 250 certificates would be needed for the school essays in connection with the Winter Show It was proposed to bold an exhibition in Timaru at Easter next year. Mr F Brooker. secretary of the Govern meet Board of Control, bad stated to him that Canterbury manufacturers came off very well in regard to the board’s recent tenders. Mr Brook*v *aiJ that, for the first time in the his totv of New Zealand, every brush that woftld be ordered by the Government year would be Mew Zealand-made.
That spoke well for brush manufacturers in this Dominion. Mr Hutchinson was asked to consider the question of having competitive designs for the certificates in connection with school essays. Messrs Hutchinson, Bradley and Colquhoun were appointed a committee to report on having a New Zealand brand on New Zealand-made goods. The secretary of the Auckland Association forwarded particulars of a patent by Mr J. Brown, of Birkdale. Auckland, for a process for treating New Zealand flax.
