OPAWA CLUB. The annual meeting of the Opawa Lawn-Tennis Club was .held on .Tuesday evening. The report and balance sheet showed that the club had one of the most successful seasons on record, both In the matter of finance and play on the courts. Combined Yankee Handicap Doubles— l Mrs Morgan and N. Brydges-Jones. The election of officers for the coming season resulted:—President, Mr P. MenzJes; vice-nresldenta, Messrs P. Har* man, Fi-S. Wilding, J. Garland, G. Lucas and F. Pol hi 11; faon. secretary; Mr C. N. .Franklin: bon treasurer. Miss IC Esson; delegates to Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association, Messrs K. White. F. Polhill and P Harman; hon. auditor, Mr Hillary: committee. Misses Menzies, N. Reed and E Willis; Messrs M. Minson, G. Osborne and K. White.. Votes of thanks were passed to Mr P. Menzies (president). Mr C. N. Franklin (hon secretary). Miss K. Esson (hon •treasurer) and Mr Hillary <ho'n auditor) for their services Jn the past season. The opening day will be Saturday, October 13.
