PRESENTATION TO AIRMEN.

To the Editor. Dear Sir,—l see by yesterday’s issue of the “ Star ” that the presentation of the cheque to the airmen is going to take place at the ball at the Caledonian Hall. Recognising that they are busy men, at the same time I think that it is monstrous that it should be given there. The public are going to subscribe on Wednesday to the donation, and I think it only fair that they should be present when it is given. Only a limited number will be able to be present at the dance, whereas if it was given, say, at Cranmer Square, where the civic reception was tendered to the men, the public would be able to witness the function. Hoping it is not yet too late for something to be done, —I am, etc., ONE WHO IS INTERESTED.
