CADETS ARE TO BE PRESENTED WITH SHOOTING TROPHIES

RESULTS OF LADY GODLEY CUP CONTEST ARE NOW ANNOUNCED. The Lady Godley Cups for rifle shooting among the night parading Cadets of Christchurch have now been allotted, and will be presented at a battalion parade of the 4th Cadet Battalion on October 10. Brigadier M. M. Gard’ner, officer commanding the southern command, will make the presentations, and on that occasion Lieutenant-Colonel W. W. M’Kinney, who has just been appointed to command the battalion, will be in charge of the parade. The results are as follows: A Company, Cadet G. B. Forbes (senior), Gadet G. Bergamini (junior); B Company, Cadet L. A. G. Walters (senior), Cadet C. Meier (junior); C Company, Lance-Corporal H. W. Jennings (senior). Cadet S. Laver y (junior) : D Company, Cadet E. A. Smith (senior), Cadet L. H. Robinson (junior) ; E Company, Company Ser-geant-Major K. E. Miller (senior), Cadet V. N. Guy (junior) ; F Company, Cadet H. Burness (senior), Cadet T. H. Beckinsale (junior). The Veterans’ Cup, for the platoon with the best average in the battalion, was won No. 9 Platoon, C Company, with an average of 785 out of a possible of 120. The three highest scorers in the company were Lance-corporal H. W. Jennings 113, Corporal G. F. Rogers 112 and Corporal W. M. M’Leod 107. Those who won the cups last year will be given medals at this year’s presentation.
