SAILING & POWER BOAT ASSOCIATION FORMED.

A meeting of delegates to the proposed Canterbury Sailing and Power Boat Association was held last night. Those present were: Messrs F. Collins and C. Woodward (Canterbury Y r acht and Motor Boat Club) ; W. E. G. Dodd and W. R. M’Clymont (Pleasant Point Boat and Yacht Club) ; E. Smith and R. W. Gormack (Christchurch Sailing and Power Boat Club) ; A. O. Willcocks and E. Phillips (Waimakariri Power and Boat Club) ; G. Lamb and R. J. Scott (Canterbury Outboard Motor Boat Club) ; L. A. Curtis and C. Kemp (New Brighton Power Boat Club). Mr E. W. Smith was voted to the chair. The chairman said the meeting was called to decide whether an association should be formed. A revival in the yachting and motor-boat sport had come about in Canterbury, and it was felt that the time was opportune for an association to be formed. On the motion of Mr W. Scott, it was decided unanimously to form an association, the name of it to be the Canterbury Sailing and Power Boat Association. It was decided that the association should investigate all accidents in connection with yachting and power-boat racing in Canterbury' waters.
