GERMAN MINISTER COMMITS SUICIDE.
TRAGIC END TO LOVE AFFAIR. (United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegra-ph.—Copyright.) BERLIN, September 24. Dr Bruckner, Minister of Justice in Mecklenburg, who was horsewhipped by his nephew last Tuesday in the main street of Schwerin, in the presence of a large crowd, was found drowned in the Schwerin lake. Dr Bruckner’s brother recently married a widow with a daughter ot nineteen and a son of eighteen. Dr Bruckner invited the girl to accompany him on a visit to Switzerland. The mother, not suspecting, agreed. During the trip the Minister and the girl fell in love. On their return the girl committed suicide, whereupon her brother horsewhipped;’Dr Bruckner to vindicate the family honour. Dr Bruckner left Schwerin and his body has now been found in the lake. —Australian Press Association.
