CHRISTCHURCH CLUB. The Dominion Cup. a challenge cup for a Canadian foursome, was played for at Shirley yesterday for the first time. There was an entry of sixty players. Tire heavy westerly wind made play difficult, and the scoring was not good. Two pairs, R. C. Abernethy and JS\ I-I. Skinner and W. D. Wood and F. S. (Special to the “^tar.”) AUCKLAND, September 24. On his return by the Aorangi to-day. Mr Arthur Duncan, the well-known Wellington golfer, who competed in the Australian amateur and open championships, had nothing but praise for Australian links and the hospitality of the golfers he met. The standard of Australian golf, he said, was a little higher than that of New Zealand. Australia wants New Zealandters to compete in her golfing events.
