2YA CONTROL.

To the Editors Dear Sir,—May I, through you, ask Mr A. R. Harris, general manager of the Radio Broadcasting Company of New Zealand, Limited,, when he intends to secure the services of an expert to put the Wellington (2YA) broadcast station in order ? Heaven knows, we have waited long enough, for ©ver since the crystal control was installed things have gone from bad to worse. You have my assurance that the station is far from well just now. _ There was a time when we could tune in 3YA (Christchurch) without being chased by 2YA (Wellington), but 2YA encroaches upon both 3YA and IYA since crystal control was supposed to liave been installed. The transmission %is rougher than ever two causes are attributed to thfts: First, microphones, even thev being badly placed; and transmission. Its a pity the system in vogue at 2FC is not followed, namely, a walk-in passage like going into a tote at the course, and the “mike” is then placed as close to the artist as may be considered advisable, without the artist having to*move at all. Then again, there is a notice board srhich the artist can see whilst performing, and a simple system of indicators informs, an artist what to do whilst performing. Everybody is growling up this way about 2YA. Surely they cannot all be wrong? Experts are unanimous that 2YA does not function as it should. — Yours, etc., ONE WHO KNOWS. Wellington, September 14.
