TO FIGHT WANGANUI SEAT FOR LABOUR PARTY

(Special to the “ Star. ”) WANGANUI. August 9. Mr W. J. Rogers, Mayor of Wanganui, last night accepted nomination as Labour candidate for Wanganui, subject to the final approval of the Labour Representation Committee, which meets in a week’s time. Mr Rogers contested the scat in 1925, the voting then being:—W. A. Veitch 4055, John Coull (Reform) 3189, and W. J. Rogers 2053.
