COAST MINERS STOP WORK.

DISPUTE CAUSED BY DISMISSAL OF MEN. Per Press Association. - GREYMOUTH. August 23. Thirty to forty miners, members of the State Miners’ Union, employed at the Briandale Colliery, refused to work following a dispute over the dismissal of three men whom the management regarded as inefficient. A conference, held at Paparoa, between the representatives of the tribute party now working the mine and representatives of the Alliance of Labour, resulted in the tributors being no longer declared black. They were put on the same footing as other Coast co-operative parties. A conference is to be held between representatives of all co-operative parties with the Alliance of Labour to arrange a comprehensive agreement.
