CHRISTCHURCH CLUB. In the first round of the club championship 13. M. Macfarlane beat L. A. Dougall 4 up and 2 to play. The second rounds of the club championship, Richards Cup and Cox Cup will be played on Saturday next, the semi-finals on September 1, and the finals, of thirty-six holes for each competition, on Saturday, September 8. During the week-end the Harewood Club sent a team to Shirley for a return match. The Shirley players won fourteen games to seven. RANGIORA LADIES’ CLUB. The fifth -round of a foursome for the captain's trophy was played on the Rangiora links on Saturday by members of the Rangiora Ladies* Club. Macdonald 119—29—-90. -V On Thursday an eclectic match will be played, commencing at 10.30 a.m., for a trophy given by Miss .1. Glasgow. Competitors'will choose their own partners. Palairet holed his tee shot at the second hole, “Sou’west,” on the RangiAN EAGLE. P. Grey was responsible for a remarkable feat at the fifteenth (490 yards) recently. After playing his second he was about 130 yards off the pin, but his mashie shot dived clean into the hole on the full and stayed there, giving him a 3 for a bogey of 5 hole. Perfect golf!
