The Beckenham School Com mi tee met last week. The head master’s report indicated that a number of children had been absent through sickness. Members expressed the opinion that the need for additional accommodation was urgent, in view of the fact that it was necessary to hold classes in the corridor owing to the overcrowded state of the class-rooms. Attention was also drawn to the continual changing of teachers at the school. It was decided; to write to. the School Committee’s Association on this matter. It was decided that, if possible, a school orchestra should be formed, and. to endeavour to arrange a school choir. It was reported that the supplying of cocoa to the children had been successfully carried out, and that the breakages were negligible. Matters relating to the canvass of the school district for funds were completed, and each member of -the committee was allotted a. section of the district. THE LOVELINESS OF LIFE.
