OUR FIRST MAORI STARLET.

Dear Aunt Hilda, —I always read the “Star” Circle page, and I should very much like to become one of your numerous nieces. What an immense family you have! lam very interested in foreign and colonial stamps, and have a collection of nearly two thousand. My uncle is one of the biggest stamp collectors in New Zealand. As you will see by my name, I am of Maori descent, and I love the Maori language, which I can speak nearly as well as I can English. I have taught it to two of my friends, and we generally speak in it when we are together. Did you have a good time at the fancy dress ball? But I suppose there is no need to ask, for you must have had with the crowd who were there. I am sending a little silver paper. It is not much, but it is all 1 have at present. I will close now, hoping that you and vour family are keeping well. Hacre ra, Arolia na, Hiria Kaihoko, Otautaki.
