SCHOOL CONCERT HELD AT BECKENHAM.

A most enjoyable concert, arranged by the headmaster (Mr Irwin) was held at the Beckenham School on Friday evening. Items were rendered as follows Pianoforte solo, Edna Ton*: kin; dialogue, Lilian and Gladys Ayres and Marjory Morris: song, Nancy M’Kessar; recitation, Connie Marshall, dance, June Wilson; violin solo, Clifford Averis; song, Norma Judkins; dance, Betty Munroe; song, Japanese Girls, Std. 4: dance, D. Carter; song, Maurice Judkins; pianoforte duet. Marjorie and Leslie Cockroft: song, Norma Judkins and Chrissie Terry; dance, Std. 1 Girls; recitation, Betty Cornish; recitation, Edna Henderson; violin and piano, Joan and Ruth Cade: song, Edna Henderson and Dorothy Toombs; accompanists, Miss Petrie and Mr Judkins. The chairman (Mr F. J. Colmer) thanked all those who had assisted, and mentioned that the committee were canvassing the district for funds and would appreciate a ready response by the residents. He also stated that a fete would be held at the school early in December, and referred to the recent innovation of supplying the infants with cocoa during the morning. This was proving very beneficial to the children but had to be financed largely from the school funds.
