ROCKEFELLER AWARD FOR SYDNEY DOCTOR.

Dr H. J. Wilkinson, lecturer and demonstrator in anatomy at Sydney University, has been awarded a Rocke feller foundation fellowship in the division of medical education.
The fellowship provides all expenses for medical men who have conducted research of importance to medicine to allow them to travel abroad to work under the great teachers. They are pledged to return to their home universities.
Dr Wilkinson graduated in arts at Adelaide University. He studied medicine at Sydney University, under great I difficulties, and finally graduated, M. 8., Ch.M., with honours, in 1925. He at once received an appointment on the staff of the Anatomy Department, under the late Professor Hunter
Besides lecturing in anatomy, he conducted research on the innervation of muscle in relation to spastic paralysis, continuing the work of Professor Hunter and Roylc.
As a result of his researches he was awarded the Peter Bancroft prize in 1927. He has also investigated the structure of the visual apparatus, and the nerve supply to fat. Dr Wilkinson will go straight to Utrecht, Holland, where he will work under Professor Boeke for six months. From there he will go to Cajal Laboratory, in Madrid; to Professor Sherrington at Oxford, to Professor Herrick at Chicago, and to Professor Ranson, at St Louis.
