The match was drawn. Kent made 265 (Ashdown 62, Woolley not out 102). Essex replied with 180 (Freeman taking seven for 61) and 215 (O'Connor 64). Freeman took five for 93. Kent won by 187 runs. Yorkshire, in their first innings, made 295 for five, declared (Sutcliffe 79, Oldroyd 119). Worcestershire, in their first innings, made 169 (Tarbox 67). Macaulay took six for 53. In their second innings they made 106 (Robinson taking four for 57 and Macaulay five for 45). Yorkshire won by an innings and 20 runs, Middlesex made 417 for nine, declared (Haig 50, Hendren not out 209); and in the second innings 170 for three (Enthoven 73, Lee not out 63).
