AMATEUR ROAD RACE AT PAPANUI.
The Christchurch Amateur 'CyclingClub held a twenty-mile road race at Papanui this afternoon. Twenty-five riders started and a close finish resulted as follows: C. Rhodes (smij»), time lhr lOmin 48sec 1 M. E. Pearl (4min), lhr lmin 47 3-ssec 2 F. Healey (4min). lhr lmin 47 2-ssec 3 J. L. Richards (3*min). 59min 47sec 4 Fastest time was registered by L. G. Lukey (scr). 58min 54sec.
