The takings at the Municipal Tepid Baths for the month of April were £129 6s sd, which is a decrease of £ls as compared with the corresponding month of last year. On the recommendation of the Finance Committee the City Council decided last night that the offers of Messrs R. Parnell, G. V. Cross, F. W. Englebrecht and T. T. Robson to set back their frontages in connection with the proposed riverside boulevard, be accepted. The committee reported that the 30 chains of the boulevard which could be constructed immediately would cost about £4OOO. At last night’s meeting of the City Council, notice of motion was given by Councillor Clyde Carr, as follows “That a special committee be set up to prepare a scheme of traffic control for Cathedral Square and reporjt to the By-laws Committee, the committee to consist of Councillors Beaven, Mannings, Andrews, Roberts, and the mover, in consultation with the Chief Traffic inspector and the City Engineer.”
