ANOTHER MOVE TO SECURE SITE FOR NURSES’ HOME.
BOARD WILL PROMOTE BILL IN PARLIAMENT.
The North Canterbury Hospital Board to-da3' decided to arrange for the introduction in Parliament of the Nurses’ Home Site Bill. Mr F. Horrell said that the board had to pay the Domains Board £2OOO for the land, and if the land was not used, the property would be forfeited. The chairman (Air 11. J. Otley) said that the site was the best could get, and it -was the cheapest land to be procured. “The whole question is whether we have a moral right to the site,” said Airs E. Al’Combs. Air H. Holland, AI.P., said that they should retain open spaces and not build on them. The motion approving of the BiiJ was carried. “You are a lot of die-hards,” remarked the chairman.
