TO-DAY’S RESULTS. The Competitions were continued this morning and will be concluded this evening. Results are as follows: PIANO SOLO. .’(Reading at Sight. Lady or Gentleman). Hawker (Shirley), “Off to Philadelphia,” 85 1 Mr S. Sayers (Beckenham), “She is Far from the Land,” 84 2 VOCAL SOLO. [(Gentlemen. New Zealand Composer. Own Selection). Mr K. Kerry (Christchurch), “A Requiem,” 82 1 Mr A. Couch (Rapaki), “Home, Little Maori Home,” 81 2 STEEL GUITAR SOLO. (Own Selection). Recalls:— Mr P. Loader (Sydenham). Miss W. Jefferies (Linwood). Miss P. Eden (Sprevdon). TO-NIGHT'S CONCERT AT 7.15. The Competitions Festival will be concluded this evening, when the last of the finalists will be heard. One of the principal items is the chief piano solo in which there is excellent competition. The second section of the combined ballet will be Staged, the competitors giving the “ Russian Ballet ” and “ The Echo and the Wood Nymphs.” An interesting cla£s will be the vocal duet (lady and gentleman) in which there are two pairs competing. Among the other classes are the men’s .operatic solo, recitation in character (under thirteen), guitar solo, ladies’ vocal scholarship, men’s English song, solo with obligato, pianoforte scholarship, humorous character sketch, national dance (fourteen and over), and tenor solo. Demonstration concerts in which successful finalists will appear will be held in the City Concert Hall on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. There will be a matinee on Saturday afternoon. Special prices will be charged, and seats may be booked at The Bristol.
