BOXING SEASON WILL OPEN AT BARRACKS ON FRIDAY AND SATURDAY.
The Garrison Sports Association wfll open its 1928 boxing season on Friday night at King Edward Barracks. wh**t the best amateurs of Canterbury trill take part in an exciting series of bout*. The tournament will be continued cn Saturday night. A very large number of entries have been received, and in every class, there will be competitor* who are equal to any others in th* Dominion. The association will be running four or five tournaments thi* year, culminating in the inter-provincial championship, which is at present held bv the Canterbury Association. All the competitors are keen to gain place* in the representative tram, and are consequently eager to get into the ring and do t.beir utmost
