WOULD RESTRICT SCOPE OF HYDE PARK INQUIRY.
MEMBER OF HOUSE TABLES AMENDMENT. (United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) LONDON, May 21. Mr Rhys Hopkin Morris (Independent Libera!) has tabled an amendment to the motion for an inquiry into the Hyde Park case, moved by the Home Secretary, Sir William Joynson-Hicks, deleting the words referring to the conduct- of the prosecution and the evi dence against Sir Leo Money and Miss Savage, thus limiting the inquiry strictly to the police action in taking the girl to Scotland Yard. A number of the Opposition fear that the of the interrogation of Miss Savage at Scotland Yard would otherwise be obscured by a mass of details regarding Hyde Park. Moreover, - a public inquiry might prejudice criminal proceedings for perjury.—Australian Press Association—United Service.
