NO SUPPRESSION IN VENIAL CASES DECLARES AUCKLAND MAGISTRATE.
(Special to the “Star.”) AUCKLAND, May 22. After the Magistrate, Mr F. K. Hunt, S.M., had dealt with a man who pleaded guilty to-day to a venial offence, counsel made application for the suppression of accused's name. “No, certainly not,” replied Mr Hunt. “Not In this case. Why, we might as well turn the Press out of Court altogether.” *
